DAN FRAIJO
For more than 35 years during his career in public service, career fire fighter Dan Fraijo has been a visionary leader and civil servant. A sixth-generation Arizonan, Dan and his wife have called Prescott home for many years now.
As a Fire Chief and as a Chief of Staff, Dan led government organizations from Prescott to San Francisco, Vancouver, Washington to Boise, Idaho. An experienced executive, Dan has met challenges and crises with a consistent, firm vision for the future and with a commitment to bringing diverse constituencies to the table to get results.
Some facts about Dan:
- He graduated from Phoenix College with his A.A. in Fire Science and the University of San Francisco, where he got a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior. Dan attended Harvard University’s Senior Executive Program in State and Local Government.
- Dan worked his way up the ranks of the Phoenix Fire Department, rising from Fire Fighter to the rank of Division Chief.
- He served as a Fire Chief or Chief of Staff in various places, including Boise; Santa Barbara County, California; Vancouver, WA; San Francisco, CA; and Prescott.
- Dan has volunteered at Prescott Frontier Days and the Yavapai Symphony Guild and on the United Way Board of Directors.
- Dan refurbishes and donates musical instruments to schools and students.
CHARLIE ARNOLD
A fourth-generation Arizonan, Charlie Arnold has continued his family’s legacy of giving back to our community and our state. After serving four years on the Prescott City Council, where he focused on improving the City’s financial footing and addressing public safety, planning and water issues, Charlie has since returned to his pursuit of economic development, job creation and building projects across Yavapai County.
Charlie’s community leadership has included serving as president of the Chino Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and the Central Arizona Partnership. He has served as a Board Member for the Yavapai County Contractors Association and as District Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America. Currently, he serves as a senior staff member for the American Legion Boys’ State program and in an advisory role for numerous local organizations.
Among his many honors, Charlie has earned the Prescott area Young Professional Visionary Leadership Award, the “Above and Beyond” award from the contractors’ association and the Reid Kecker Volunteer of the Year award.
DR. MATTHEW PAVELKA
An emergency physician at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Dr. Matt Pavelka and his family moved to Prescott in 2014 in search of a family-oriented community with great access to the outdoors.
Matt has been married to his wife Lindsay for 11 years. They have two young sons. A native Texan, Matt trained at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. When he isn’t at work helping patients, he loves exploring the woods with his kids, practicing yoga, skateboarding, and eating at Taco Don’s.
BETH STAUB
Beth Staub co-owns Adventure Auto Glass with her husband, David Rittershaus. Beth also owns Adventure Photo Studios, which specializes in portraits of toddlers, families and high school seniors.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Beth was a schoolteacher, working for three years in Kayenta and then teaching for seven years at Bradshaw Mountain High School. While she lived in Kayenta, Beth volunteered for a “ropes rescue crew,” an opportunity that taught her firsthand the need for adequately resourced, creative public safety departments.
Among many volunteer posts locally, Beth has served with the Prescott Valley Rotary Club and as a member of Prescott Area Leadership since 2010. Beth became President of the Prescott Area Leadership Board in 2015. In her spare time, Beth loves supporting her daughter’s volleyball career, hiking and spending time with her four dogs. When she’s not at work, Beth is out on the trail with her camera in her hands.
